Reduce your environmental food-print

Some of us grow our own veggies, some agonise over food-miles or organic provenance… Possibly the greatest impact we can have is by reducing our meat intake. Could your parish host a vegetarian cooking class? Or make the next bring-and-share potluck meat-free?

Not all meat-free foods are soul-less salads, or contain exotic ingredients. A risotto with mushrooms, cheese or pumpkin might warm your heart? Or a hearty soup with chunky bread? Perhaps try a vegetable lasagne? Or a bourginon?

Enjoy learning a new recipe, and consider introducing a meat-free meal once a week to your own routine. A parish event is always welcome; it is great to build community, learn new skills and possibly even show off your new culinary prowess a little.
